Make A Difference Daily
A day of Practicing Praise will be different than your day today.
A day of Practicing Praise is about "catching people doing good" or showing kindness, compassion and love to someone in need. Practicing Praise is all about taking action to let them know you appreciate them.
As you go through your day, watch what is happening around you in two ways:
1) Who is doing great work that may appreciate recognition or a thank you?
2) What could you do to be kind or provide a hand up to someone in need?
Members will receive a daily morning "check-in" email to record the number of acts of praise from the previous day along with some "words of wisdom" to inspire you to make a difference during that day.
For followers of Jesus Christ, we offer an opportunity to "Live Like Jesus" through our new "Followers Framework" (see below). This approach allows us to be more consistent and focused on living a life of love and service to others.
Please consider joining and giving Practicing Praise a 30-day trial. No cost involved, no creepy re-selling of your information - just an opportunity to make a difference, daily. Think of it as a daily accountability email that gives us that little "nudge" to love others.
These words from Mother Teresa sum things up nicely:
“I used to pray that God would feed the hungry, or do this or that, but now I pray that He will guide me to do whatever I’m supposed to do, what I can do. I used to pray for answers, but now I’m praying for strength. I used to believe that prayer changes things, but now I know that prayer changes us, and we change things.” – Mother Teresa
And just for the record, we know that following Jesus isn't just about doing good works or being a nice person. But as Martin Luther said:
“God does not need your good works, but your neighbor does.”
― Martin Luther
We are excited to introduce the “Followers Framework for Daily Living” as part of the Practicing Praise journey.
This framework helps us "Live Like Jesus" each day, starting with acknowledging our imperfections and seeking His help. Jesus modeled the life we are created to live, and this is a process to put us on the path He modeled.
Even though Jesus showed us how to live an eternal life by following Him, we just don't do what He plainly puts forth in the Gospels. We think we can do it on our own when we clearly need Him to guide us and walk with us.
To "Live Like Jesus," every morning we confess our sins, pledge our love and need for God, and finally, commit to loving and serving our neighbors. Our transformation leads us to walk, see, and act differently. We “Live Like Jesus”.
Zach Windahl (Brand Sunday) recently shared his “4 Ways to Be More Like Jesus”:
1. Live a life of serving others. Jesus came serving. He didn’t elevate himself, so we should do the same.
2. Pour out grace on everyone, even if they annoy you or hurt you or believe something different than you.
3. Jesus often spoke about generosity. You don’t have to give everything away, but you can start by being generous with your time and loving those around you.
4. Learn to think like He thought. How do you do that? By studying what He said and believing it as truth. Over time, your thoughts will be renewed to see things from a heavenly perspective.
Joining Practicing Praise and providing your email details enables you to receive daily emails of encouragement and an opportunity to help you to consistently live and love others in need.
Just as Jesus did.
Be good. Do good. Be Love.
The Followers Framework
Step 1
When you receive your daily email from Practicing Praise, start by acknowledging that you are a sinner and ask for forgiveness. Reflect on actions you aren’t proud of and ask for forgiveness and pray to improve your behaviors.
Step 1 Prayer:
“Dear Lord, I know and acknowledge that I am flawed and have done things I shouldn’t have done. I am sorry. Please forgive me and guide me as I walk through this day trying to make the right decisions. Thank you for the opportunity to love and serve You and my neighbor. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.”
Step 2
Reflect on the Acts of Praise you did yesterday. Consider opportunities you may have missed and celebrate your efforts by reporting them to Practicing Praise. Enter the number of Acts of Praise completed on the previous day by clicking on the green button (“Click Here to Record Your Acts of Praise”) at the bottom of the email. Doing this may seem trivial, but this helps us be accountable and motivates us to stay focused on loving and serving others. How can we “live like Jesus” if we don’t continuously love and serve people in need?
Step 2 Scripture:
“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things; you will be blessed if you do them.” John 13: 14-17 (NIV)
Step 3
Anticipate the day ahead and think about how you can Live Like Jesus. Reflect on the Words of Wisdom and daily prayer, seeking guidance and wisdom from God. Live the day in search of ways to love and serve your neighbor.
Embrace the chance to Live Like Jesus!
Be good. Do good. Be love.
It could be as simple as pausing and letting the car in front of you in or helping someone struggling with packages load their car.
It could be about seeing people during the course of your day doing great work and taking time to lift them up with praise.
It could be about helping others in need by volunteering for a good cause or lifting people up who need your kindness and love.
The important part is the "act" - "act"ually doing something about
the goodness you see with an act of praise.
Help folks that need help, lift up those who need a lift,
recognize those who are doing great work or service.
Just to get you started, we compiled 99 different ideas/situations where you may find reasons to send a card of praise....plus add-in different ways to volunteer, make the extra effort to be gracious and helpful to others during your day and it will
be easy to make a difference daily!

Hopefully as you scroll this page, you are getting a sense for what Practicing Praise is about, and may be asking yourself if this is for me...This is more than just "being nice" - it's deeper than that, so if you would like to explore a bit more, click on the button below.
